Who We Are

We are an experienced team of writers, strategists and content providers with a mission to make the world a better place by telling the stories that need to be told to the people who need to hear them.

Elizabeth Doerr, Founder & Principal

Elizabeth Doerr (she/her/hers) is a storyteller at heart. Since she was very young, she has channeled her observations about the world into writing and storytelling. It's how she still processes everything going on in the world. Elizabeth founded Doerr & Co. because she wants to help people and brands showcase their own stories through written content. She knows, as someone who's worked in program management and education that the day-to-day work can often make it difficult to identify how to do that. She brings her natural strategy-development skills to both how she tells the story and the content development process.

Elizabeth is also a published writer and journalist. You can find her essays and reported stories in publications such as Parents.com, Bloomberg CityLab, Portland Monthly, and Baltimore City Paper among many others. She won a Maryland/Delaware/DC Press Association award for her 2015 Baltimore City Paper story about street harassment, "Stop Calling Me 'Baby.’”

When she's not writing, you can find Elizabeth doing any number of her favorite things like eating, drinking coffee, running, and hiking with her husband, Cory, and her son, Finch in Portland, Oregon (which is the ancestral land of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Chinook, Molalla and the many other Native tribes whose traditional communities were along the Columbia River).

& Co: What does it mean?

Doerr & Co. is much more than a one-woman show. While Elizabeth is at the helm of the business, she would not be here if it weren't for trusted partners and collaborators with whom she has worked along the way. Doerr & Co. is consistently bringing in fresh voices on our blog and as collaborators. We hire writers and practitioners to share their stories that shed light on the mission and vision of our company, as well as collaborators on strategy and writing for upcoming projects. Learn more about our current partners and contributors below.

  • Kealan Cázares Casey

SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING CONSULTANT + BLOG CONTRIBUTOR

Kealan (She/Her) is one of those people who never grew out of that "why?" phase. Passionate about representation and equity, Kealan is committed to making sure all voices and stories are heard.

When not scrolling social feeds for work, you can find Kealan obsessively consuming media of all kinds, especially TV & film, traveling, and exploring life in the Swiss mountains where she lives with her husband and two kids.

Kealan provides consultation on social media content and marketing strategy. Her Doerr&Co blog column focuses on the importance of social impact work to a business and how to bring those out authentically in social media and marketing.
